Salary: NJC Scale SO1 Point 23 £32,706.00
Hours: 35.00 per week

Newstart Education Centre is seeking a highly experienced, well qualified and dynamic individual to lead the delivery of our STRIVE programme. STRIVE is cross community and cross border in nature and targets vulnerable young people aged 14-24 who are on the margins of mainstream education and youth provision. The person will lead a small team of youth work staff to effectively engage (and sustain the engagement of) young people on the programme. They will support staff to use best practice methods to empower young people to reach their potential. Delivery will include one to one mentoring, issue based small group work, training, adventure learning and advocacy. They will have proven experience of working with vulnerable young people from areas affected by poverty and disadvantage for a minimum of four years, coupled with excellent management, planning, monitoring & evaluation, organisational and communication skills. 
 
Job Purpose
The post holder will help develop and deliver our Peace Plus funded cross community, cross-border STRIVE programme. STRIVE is an intensive youth work programme aimed at young people aged 14-24 who are on the margins of education and youth provision. They will lead a small team of staff and ensure best youth work methods to sustain the engagement of young people on the programme. They will adopt a strong collaborative approach working in partnership with four other youth based organisation who make up the STRIVE consortium.

Newstart Education Centre reserves the right to shortlist candidates using both the essential and desirable criteria.
